UT-Austin’s Dept. of Psychology Hosts  “Cerebraphile,” an Interactive, Science-Art exhibit – and Love Affair

AUSTIN, Tx.- The University of Texas at Austin’s Department of Psychology will host “Cerebraphile,” an interactive, science-art installation by brain lover, Ms RAZ. The exhibition is distributed over four floors in the Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay (SEA) Psychology Building and includes over 50 brain illustrations, projection photography, and interactive exhibits that invite viewers to engage with their own and each other’s cerebrums. 

Some people hear words like “neuroscience” and “cerebrum” and think, “Oh, that’s all that science brain stuff…” with a sigh of defeat, as though the subject matter is beyond them. Ms RAZ’s work strips away the jargon and polishes the inherent beauty of science, thus allowing everyone of any age or background to engage with and enjoy this beauty. Ms RAZ’s cerebraphilic lovechild is meant to educate, spark curiosity, and share with the viewers the same sense of awe and wonder she has for science.

The Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin and Ms RAZ invite you to join them for the opening reception of “Cerebraphile” on December 3rd, 2015 and 5:00pm to 6:30pm in the Sarah M. and Charles E Seay Building (SEA) located on 108 E. Dean Keeton Austin, TX 78712.
